Chairman - Dan Garcia
Dan Garcia is a native of Texas who moved to Pittsburgh to attend the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2008 after having graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Political Science. He was an active member of the Texas Young Republican Federation where he served as Chairman to Brazos County and Southern Regional Director. While in Texas, Mr. Garcia was awarded Man of the Year, New Club of the Year, and Best Newsletter by the TYRF. Mr. Garcia has been a volunteer on several campaigns, most notably, he was in Ames, Iowa campaigning for Sen. Fred Thompson, in Louisiana campaigning for Bobby Jindal, and currently, a volunteer for Attorney General Tom Corbett and Congressman Pat Toomey, among several others. Mr. Garcia is now serving the Pennsylvania Young Republicans as the National Committeeman and is a resident of the beautiful City of Pittsburgh. Email: chairman.yrac@gmail.com
Vice Chair - Dan Soltesz
Dan Soltesz is a lifetime native of Allegheny County, residing in the Borough of Pleasant Hills. Dan attended St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA where he received a degree in Political Science and History as well as serving in positions such as 1st Vice-Chairman of the College Republicans and 1st Lieutenant of the St. Vincent Fire Department. While serving as Vice-Chairman of the YRAC, Dan is also serving as Southwest Regional Director for the Pennsylvania Young Republicans, overseeing our region’s county Chapters. Dan has worked with several campaigns since 2004, ranging from the State Legislature to statewide and national campaigns. Dan has had the honor of being named “Republican of the Month” in March 2010 by the Republican Party of Pennsylvania, receiving the 2010 Fast Track Community Leader Award from Baker Leadership and most recently being named the 2010 Pennsylvania Young Republicans “Man of the Year”. Dan is also a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the America’s Future Foundation. Outside of politics, Dan is a member of the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company, where he serves as a Firefighter, 1st Vice President, and a Member of the Board of Directors and is serving on the Young Professionals Committee of the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania. Secretary - Kim Hanson
Kim Hanson has been actively involved in the Allegheny County Young Republicans for several years, most notably by spearheading the organization’s community service component. A recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Education, she holds a Masters degree in Administration and Policy Studies, Higher Education Management. Additionally, she also received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in Political Science and Economics. During this time, Kim served as the President of Pi Sigma Alpha, Chapter Xi, the University of Pittsburgh’s Political Science Honor Society, Editor of the University’s yearbook, Panther Prints, and Vice President of the Public Administration Organization (PAO). Kim currently works as a paralegal in the Legal Department for Direct Energy Business, LLC, a wholesale energy firm headquartered in Downtown Pittsburgh. Kim also has extensive political experience, serving as a key staffer and volunteer on numerous local, state, and national campaigns. Originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania, Kim grew up in Hollenback Township, just outside of the City of Wilkes-Barre, now proudly calls Allegheny County home. Email: info.yrac@gmail.com
